Chapter 172 The True Value of the River Styx

Chapter 172 The True Value of the River Styx

With the destruction of the gods' avatars, the world finally returned to silence. Although the Styx was shattered by the gods' desperate counterattack, Agred was not so easily killed. After a few days, the Styx reformed and Agred was reborn. Now, Agred and the Styx coexist. As long as the Styx is not completely destroyed, Agred will not die.

The River Styx, the source of life in the universe, is not so easy to destroy. Destroying the River Styx is tantamount to destroying a universe. Perhaps it would be possible if the true bodies of those gods came here, but for a mere few hundred divine avatars to think they could kill Agreed is just wishful thinking.

Agreed used the immense energy generated by the self-destruction of those gods to heal his injuries. After this great battle, he suffered no real loss and did not steal any power from those gods. Moreover, those gods would never let him go. Agreed knew that the gods would personally descend upon the prime material universe to destroy him next time.

By then, Agreed would have absolutely no chance of winning, because a universe is insignificant in the face of the gods. He had to find a new way to survive. Afterwards, Agreed controlled his body to return to the Shadow Kingdom. After explaining some things, Agreed went into seclusion again, but this time he was not cultivating but to bring out the true value of the Styx River!

In a sense, the River Styx can be considered a natural cloud server, storing all the true history of the universe from its birth to its death, as well as the wisdom of all races. This means that Agred can learn about the true and complete past and history through the River Styx.

His soul can even travel to the past with the help of the Styx to view real events from a higher-dimensional perspective. However, he must not change anything when he goes back to the past, otherwise the distortion of time will inevitably split a universe, leading to the emergence of parallel universes and ultimately causing extreme consequences.

There are actually many fools in this world who think the past can be changed. They think they are playing with time, but in reality, time is playing with them. The basic condition for changing time is absolute power. Your strength must exceed the sum of all the energy in this entire timeline. Therefore, Agreed has calculated that even the strongest person can never modify their own past, because it is as paradoxical as lifting oneself up. The stronger Agreed becomes, the more he thinks that those who dare to talk about modifying time are really too stupid. They are basically just the self-delusion of some ignorant people.

Agreed knew that even if there were beings capable of altering time, they would be terrifying beings beyond his comprehension, and such beings could not possibly live in such a primitive universe as Agreed did.

Therefore, Agreed's journey through the River Styx to explore the past was not actually to modify it, but to seek its wisdom and an opportunity to advance himself, or rather, to search for the 'legacy from the ancient gods'!

The first gods to appear in the multiverse, known as the 'Gods of Nature,' were the strongest among all the gods. In the primordial era, the universe was too rich in energy to give birth to life. Only the gods arose in this environment. The ancient elemental gods, the nine-faced dragon god, the Titan god, the evil god, and other terrifying beings that have long since disappeared into the annals of history all appeared in that era.

Later, for reasons unknown, a life-or-death war broke out among the nature gods. All the nature gods perished, with only a few minor second-generation gods created by the nature gods surviving. These included the dragon gods led by Tiamat, the mother of dragons, and Bahamut, the platinum dragon god; the Titans represented by Cronus, the first generation of gods and Zeus's father, and his brothers and sisters; and the elemental gods of today, who were basically created by the first generation of nature gods.

In terms of raw power, the offspring of these nature gods were no match for their fathers. However, in an era when all the gods perished, these 'kids' rose to become the pinnacle of power in the multiverse. At the same time, intelligent life forms like humans began to appear in a desolate universe. The new gods quickly discovered the value of these intelligent life forms and thus created a new pantheon: the 'belief god system'!

Thus, gods of faith sprang up like mushrooms after rain, enriching the family of deities once again. This was the general history of the multiverse before Agred's birth. However, Agred disdained to imitate the almost deceptive method of becoming a god that gods of faith used. He preferred to glimpse the ancient nature gods and steal even a little bit of their wisdom and power, as that would be enough to deal with the gods of faith of varying strengths today.

Unfortunately, the Styx River in Agreed's universe did not have any trace of nature gods in its ancient past. Clearly, this universe was too weak to give birth to nature gods, so there were no traces of nature gods in its past.

Disappointed, Agreed withdrew from the past and returned to his body through the River Styx. He slowly stood up and muttered to himself, heartbroken, "Is this path a dead end? Am I just supposed to sit here and wait to die? No, I can't just give up like this. If it's not in this universe, then I'll go to other universes to look!"

But Agreed quickly rejected the suggestion, explaining, "No, it would take me too long to gain control of the Styx River in another universe. Searching for them one by one would be too time-consuming. The gods will descend in their true forms even faster than this time. I might not even have ten years left."

Agled paced anxiously back and forth, pondering a solution. Suddenly, he seemed to have an idea and exclaimed excitedly, "That's it! He must know about those universes where nature gods once existed!"

After a while

Mammon and Agreed sat in the secret chamber. Mammon gently bit the soul in his hand, then summarized Agreed's words and said, "So you mean you need me to help you find a universe that once gave birth to the God of Nature and tell you about its location?"

Agreed nodded in agreement, saying, "Besides you, I really can't think of anyone else I know who would know this information."

Mammon chuckled and said, "You think highly of me. But you're really lucky. I do know the cosmic location where a nature god was born, and that nature god is none other than the nine-headed dragon god 'Aio,' who is recognized as the strongest among the nature gods."

Upon hearing this news, Agreed exclaimed with overjoyed excitement, "Really?! You actually know the cosmic location where the Nine-Faced Dragon God was born!! My God, I'm getting more and more curious about your intelligence network. It's terrifying that you even know this."

Mammon shrugged and explained, "It's nothing. It's just that Tiamat, the mother of dragons, also lives in Hell, so it's quite common for me to know these things."
