Chapter 115 Various Situations
Chapter 115 Various Situations
Chen Fei rushed to the stingy little thing's side, first rubbing his nose against it to make sure it wasn't hurt, just frightened. He breathed a sigh of relief and growled, "You little brat, you've got some nerve! Daring to run off alone! If you dare to run off again, I'll give you a good beating!"
The stingy fellow shrank back, not daring to utter a sound, and simply moved closer to Chen Fei, burying his head between his front legs for protection. His dependence was as if he had found a savior.
When the four hyenas saw Chen Fei arrive, their arrogance immediately diminished. They knew the power of a male lion, especially a sub-adult male lion, whose anger was no joke. However, they were reluctant to give up their prey, so they stood there hesitantly, growling threateningly, baring their teeth, but none of them dared to step forward.
"With your cowardly appearance, you dare to make a move on it?" Chen Fei turned his head and glared at them, his chest brimming with a sense of intimidation, but he didn't dare to release it all... after all, Ella was still there, and he was afraid of scaring her.
If Ella shoots him out of fear.
He can't kill him, and he can't not kill him.
After all, the other party had just saved the stingy guy.
It let out a low growl, the sound of which made the ground tremble slightly. The hyenas were so frightened that they took several steps back, their legs trembling.
"Get out! If you don't leave, I'll snap your necks one by one!" Chen Fei cursed inwardly, his eyes filled with malice as he stared intently at them. That murderous aura sent a chill down the spines of the hyenas.
Ella watched Chen Fei confront the hyenas, quite surprised: how could he have intimidated four hyenas so quickly? And it seemed they were deliberately not attacking her. She slowly took two steps back, making room for Chen Fei, and muttered, "Incredible." She slowly retreated, gun in hand, her eyes never leaving the scene, ready to fire at any moment.
She was also afraid of disrupting the current situation, fearing that one of them might go crazy.
The hyenas exchanged glances, knowing that further delay would be pointless. The leader growled, as if saying "retreat," then turned and ran off with its tail between its legs. The other three, seeing this, quickly followed suit, pushing and shoving each other like stray dogs, running in a panic, terrified that Chen Fei would catch up.
Chen Fei was relieved to see the hyena run away. He nudged the stingy little devil with his nose and said, "Come on, come back with me. Your mother is going crazy with worry!"
The stingy creature stood up shakily, its legs still a little weak, and walked with a limp, following behind Chen Fei, no longer daring to run away. It would occasionally glance up at Chen Fei's back, its heart filled with gratitude: Thank goodness Brother Fei came, otherwise I would be done for today.
Chen Fei slowed his pace, waiting for it, and thought to himself: This little brat is really a handful. This trip seems to have increased his energy points a bit. He glanced at the panel: 1550, just fifty points away from 1600. Not bad, not bad, not a waste of time.
Meanwhile, Sel was pacing around the camp, practically on edge. His growls grew increasingly urgent as he roared at the other lions, "Has none of you seen that stingy guy? Find him! If you don't, I'll skin you all alive!"
The other lions, silenced by her roar, scattered to help search, but to no avail. They were also anxious: if the cub was lost, Sel would fight them to the death. Big Head approached Sel and whispered, "Sister Sel, don't worry, the eldest has gone to look for it. It has a keen nose; it'll definitely find the little rascal."
"Find him? What if we can't find him?" Sel growled, her eyes filled with anxiety. "That's my child!" She ran a few more steps southeast, sniffing the air, hoping to catch a whiff of the stingy boy.
From afar, Sel could smell the stingy guy's scent, as well as Chen Fei's. He immediately rushed in that direction, shouting, "Stingy guy! Where are you?"
Seeing the little rascal following Chen Fei unharmed, Sail rushed over, nuzzling and licking him while making whimpering sounds, like crying or scolding: "You little brat, you scared your mother to death! If you dare to run around again, I'll break your legs! See if you dare to be naughty again!"
The little rascal huddled in Sael's arms, not daring to utter a sound, just obediently letting itself be licked, its head nuzzling against Sael's neck, knowing it had done wrong. It could sense Sael's worry and felt quite guilty: it would never run away alone again.
Chen Fei stood to the side, watching the mother and cub reunite, thinking to himself: "Sail is usually quite calm, but she gets all worked up when it comes to her cubs. It seems maternal love is the same for both humans and animals." He turned to leave, but Sail looked up at him and growled softly. Chen Fei wagged his tail in response: "Keep an eye on her next time."
Sel licked the stingy boy's ear, then glanced up at Chen Fei's back. She carried the stingy boy by the scruff of his neck as they walked towards the camp. The stingy boy obediently let her carry him, his eyes occasionally glancing towards Chen Fei.
Chen Fei followed slowly behind, thinking to himself: I need to set some rules for this brat next time, or he'll cause trouble sooner or later. He looked up at the sky; the sun was about to set. Dusk always comes quickly in the dry season, and the wind on the grassland was getting cool.
"Time to go back." He growled, quickening his pace as he headed towards the Alliance's encampment. Behind him, the figures of Sel and the miser drew closer, while the other lions at the encampment also came to greet him, all breathing a sigh of relief upon seeing that the miser was unharmed.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the main conference room at the London Survey Team headquarters was unusually heavy.
Photos of the wreckage were projected onto a whiteboard, and eight red dots were marked on the map, scattered within a radius of no more than two hundred meters. They were so densely packed that they were glaring to the eye.
Linton sat at one end of the long table, a thick stack of reports piled in front of him, tapping his fingers on the table without saying a word.
Kenneth stood beside the whiteboard, laser pointer in hand, slamming it onto the table. "Eight units, all fucking out of control! The time difference between their crashes was less than forty seconds. No collisions, no mechanical failures, all batteries were full! The only thing they had in common... their communication modules were all jammed by strong interference signals three to five seconds before the crash!" He paused, picked up a report, and slammed it on the table. "The frequency band of this interference signal overlaps with the sound wave frequency extracted from the wreckage last time!"
The meeting room was so quiet you could hear someone breathing.
Ella sat in the middle of the table, a sound wave frequency comparison chart in front of her. She rubbed her temples. "Sound waves interfering with drone communications? That requires precise knowledge of the communication frequency band, and you also have to actively adjust the sound frequency and continuously output intensity!" She pushed the comparison chart onto the table, her voice a little deep. "These three conditions combined aren't instinct, it's fucking learning behavior! This lion is figuring out our drones!"
