Chapter 748 Human Affairs 08
Qin Che crossed his arms and looked at your eloquent explanation, commenting, "Your twisted logic is truly impressive."
You hold up a finger and slowly shake it at him: "No, no, no, even if you have more, none of them are as many tricks as you have. Don't be modest about this."
Qin Che lowered his eyes to look at your fingers held up in front of him, his voice soft: "You are the truly humble one. You use the excuse of pleasing yourself, but you always manage to make me happy without even realizing it."
"Huh? Really?" You tilted your head, your eyelashes fluttering slightly, pretending not to understand what you were saying.
He looked up, his gaze as deep as a still pool, staring into your eyes: "No? You're being so cautious, are you worried I won't adapt to this place?"
You met his gaze calmly, a confident smile curving your lips: "Whether you're comfortable here or not, you're certainly comfortable being with me, aren't you?"
Qin Che suddenly chuckled. He didn't answer, but picked up a few arrows from the stall and put them in your hand: "Didn't you say you wanted to have a contest? Come on."
As dusk deepened, a ray of setting sun pierced through the bustling crowd and fell upon Qin Che's profile.
The wind whipped up the stray hairs on his forehead, casting an amber glow on his features.
You put the small sachet you won from the pitch-pot game into your bag and continued strolling with Qin Che along the bustling street.
"And what is that?
He pointed to a stall not far away, and you began to explain in a serious manner. He lowered his eyes and listened attentively, his slender fingers unconsciously caressing the warmth of your wrist, occasionally tapping his chin to show that he was listening carefully to what you were saying.
The temple fair was packed with people. He took your hand and led you to a nearby stall selling red ropes.
The stall owner looked at Qin Che with obvious surprise.
"Long time no see. You came here last year, right?"
Qin Che didn't react in any particular way, but you were the one whose eyes lit up: "Hmm? You've been here before?"
"...No, you're mistaken." He casually flipped through the red rope on the stall, his face expressionless.
"Sorry, sorry, maybe I remembered wrong." The stall owner scratched his head, seemingly annoyed that he had spoken carelessly.
A smile played on your lips as you glanced at Qin Che a couple more times, seemingly unintentionally.
Yo yo yo!
This guy! He definitely came here!
With his face, you simply can't believe that the stall owner's face could be associated with anyone else's.
Qin Che felt your burning gaze on him, so he raised his hand and poked your forehead: "What are you looking at? Did you really think I would come here?"
You raised an eyebrow, not answering his question, but instead focusing your attention back on the red string bracelets displayed on the stall.
You pick up one of the ropes and hold it up carefully: "Is there anything special about these ropes?"
The stall owner quickly explained in detail: "The different colors and styles represent wishes for peace, health, and academic/career success. The best-selling one is the 'Prosperity' style, the one you have here."
"May your fortune be prosperous~ This suits our Boss Qin perfectly. Here, let me buy you one of these." As you spoke, you placed the red string on Qin Che's wrist and held it up to his wrist.
Qin Che slightly raised his eyes and pointed to a rope braid pattern with red and gold intertwined.
The stall owner untied two braided ropes that were hanging for display and handed them to Qin Che's palm.
"That's wonderful, we've witnessed a wonderful marriage so soon after setting up our stall."
"Marriage?" Qin Che paused for a moment.
