Chapter 283 Human Females Fleeing in the Beast World 11
Chapter 283 Human Females Fleeing in the Beast World 11
She moved quickly yet steadily through the ruins and smoke along the pre-planned route.
Finally, they arrived at the secluded corner where they had agreed to meet Hu Le.
"Miss Shen!" Hu Le emerged from the shadows and only relaxed slightly when he saw that Shen Chumo was unharmed.
"You've finally arrived. I was so worried..."
Shen Chumo raised her hand to signal him to be quiet, then cautiously looked around to make sure no one was there before whispering, "Where is the others?"
"I have secretly unlocked the dungeon door and found someone to tell them that they can escape now, but I don't know how they chose to do it."
Shen Chumo nodded; this was the plan they had agreed upon.
She has done everything she could; everyone has the right to choose their own destiny, and she cannot force others to take risks with her.
"Hu Le, you did a great job." Shen Chumo patted Hu Le's shoulder and said softly, "Now, we need to leave here quickly. Once they realize that I was behind this, they will definitely send people to hunt us down."
Hu Le nodded vigorously, "The explosion just now has drawn away all the guards at the gate, and the arena is going to be in big trouble this time."
Hu Le smiled, knowing that the arena had used Shen Chumo's victory over Andrew as a gimmick to attract many important figures to watch today's match.
It just so happens that such a big problem has occurred on the territory of the fighting arena. You can imagine how much of a headache the arena owner must be having.
Thinking of this, Hu Le felt extremely happy.
The two dared not linger, crouching low as they made their way along a narrow, dark passage at the edge of the fighting arena.
The dark passage was filled with the acrid smell of gunpowder, and the sound of stones falling could be heard from above.
They carefully avoided each other, afraid of triggering any danger.
"Miss Shen, how did you manage to do that?" Hu Le couldn't help but ask in a low voice, "This arena has never seen such a mess before."
Shen Chumo's lips curled up slightly. "Just some magic."
Hu Le's eyes widened. "Could it be a Star Spirit's magic? Miss Shen, could it be that you're from the Star Spirit race?"
She had heard Hu Le mention the Star Spirits before; they were a race living in the Celestial Realm who used the power of stars to cast spells.
Shen Chumo smiled helplessly and shook her head gently. "I am naturally not a member of the Star Spirit Clan. I just happened to learn some similar techniques."
Shen Chumo sighed slightly, "Although I am not a Star Spirit, I hope that one day I can witness the true Star Spirit magic. Perhaps I can learn from it and give us humans more ability to protect ourselves."
Hu Le scratched his head, his face full of longing. "Yes, Miss Shen, if we humans could also master such magical power, we would never have to be afraid of those beastmen again."
However, the Protoss are always shrouded in mystery, their numbers are small, and they live in that distant, unreachable realm of the heavens, making it extremely difficult to encounter them.
As they were speaking, they suddenly heard footsteps coming from ahead.
Shen Chumo and Hu Le immediately stopped and held their breath. Shen Chumo gestured for Hu Le to hide to the side, while she gripped her dagger and hid in the shadows.
The footsteps grew closer, and several orc soldiers, weapons in hand, came into view.
The lead orc warily surveyed his surroundings, muttering, "The master said to search carefully, don't miss any corner. The person who caused the damage is definitely still nearby."
Shen Chumo's heart leaped into her throat. She secretly gestured to Hu Le, signaling them to prepare for a confrontation. Just as the beastmen were about to approach their hiding place, a loud explosion suddenly came from afar.
"Oh no, another explosion over there!" an orc shouted in alarm.
"Quick, go check it out!" The leading orc waved his hand and led his soldiers to rush towards the direction of the loud noise.
Shen Chumo and Hu Le breathed a sigh of relief and walked out of their hiding place.
"It seems like even the heavens are on our side," Hu Le said softly.
Shen Chumo mentally calculated the time, "We need to speed things up."
On the other side, the explosions in the arena finally stopped. Pei Yan walked up to the high platform, looked at the chaotic arena, and gripped the railing tightly with both hands.
How long has it been? How long has it been since he was schemed against like this?
Is it the Zhou family or the Li family?
"Have you found anyone suspicious?" Pei Yan's aura was extremely low.
"Reporting to you, sir... there is no definite news yet, but we have already searched every possible place carefully."
The orc answered tremblingly, not daring to raise his head, for fear of angering Pei Yan, who was currently burning with rage.
Pei Yan frowned, his eyes growing even colder. He suddenly flicked his hand, and a burst of energy shot out from his palm, shattering a nearby rock into pieces. The flying debris startled the surrounding orcs, who retreated in fear.
"A bunch of useless trash! We haven't even found a trace of you all in so long, what use are you!"
"My lord, please calm down. This matter is too strange. The explosions have covered almost the entire fighting arena. It's clear that the other side planned this in advance..."
Another orc mustered his courage and stepped forward to explain, but before he could finish speaking, he felt Pei Yan's murderous gaze and swallowed the rest of his words, while large beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.
Pei Yan took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He knew that getting angry now would not help, and the most urgent task was to find out who was behind it all.
"No matter what method you use, thoroughly check all the entrances and exits of the fighting arena, including the surrounding area. Also, check the list of everyone who entered the fighting arena today and see if there is anything suspicious."
Pei Yan tried his best to make his voice sound calm, but the chilling killing intent contained in his words could not be hidden.
"Yes, sir! We'll take care of it right away!"
The orcs responded in unison, and then scattered like birds and beasts, each going off to carry out their missions.
Pei Yan turned his gaze back to the devastated arena, and suddenly Jade's injured figure appeared before him.
His legs were covered in blood, the flesh torn and rolled up, and the white bones were faintly visible in the ruptured wounds.
Jade's once tall and imposing body was now kneeling on the ground, trembling slightly from the pain, his hands digging into the ground so hard that blood seeped from under his fingernails.
Pei Yan suddenly remembered that the explosion occurred right after Jed swung his axe, and the first place to explode was where Jed was.
Pei Yan's eyes flickered slightly, and he beckoned one of his subordinates over to ask, "Have you found the human female's corpse?"
The servant paused for a moment, then shook his head.
"It seems... her body hasn't been found."
