Chapter 421 The Angry Mother
Chapter 421 The Angry Mother
Zhuang Chaoying knew without a doubt why they had come; it must be about catching up with the US.
After registering his household registration this morning, he went to the police station to give a statement. When he came out of the police station, he was riding his motorcycle and just happened to pass by Grandma Zhuang and Ganmei's wife, who were rushing over.
They were so focused on getting to the police station that they didn't notice him.
Zhuang Chaoying opened the door and saw Grandma Zhuang and Ganmei's daughter-in-law standing at the door.
He stared at the two of them indifferently and said coldly, "Come in."
Looking at her eldest son, whose temperament had changed so drastically, Granny Zhuang felt a sudden chill run down her spine.
The once easily manipulated eldest son is gone; now Zhuang Chaoying's eyes are icy cold.
The dealers, young and old alike, have always been bullies who prey on the weak and fear the strong. Once you stand up for yourself, they'll naturally back down. In short, these dealers are truly spineless; you have to be tough with them.
Several people were sitting on the sofa on the first floor.
The beautiful wife broke the silence first, and the most important thing now was to ask her elder brother to write a letter of forgiveness.
"Brother, Uncle in-law, this whole 'rushing to the beauty' thing really wasn't intentional. He was just... he was just anxious. Dad's leg is broken, and he's been extremely worried about him."
Mr. Huang sat to one side, his brows furrowed, pointing at the two of them.
“Mother-in-law, this is your family matter, and I shouldn’t interfere. But your man pushed my daughter, Ah Ling, down, causing her to have a premature birth! Luckily, nothing serious happened. If something had, I would never forgive him!”
Upon hearing this, Granny Zhuang quickly nodded in agreement.
She secretly glanced at the eldest brother and saw that he was silent and just staring at them coldly, which made her feel a little uneasy.
“Father-in-law, Ganmei is a reckless child. When he gets out, I will make sure he goes to apologize to A-Ling. Chaoying, no matter what, Ganmei is still your younger brother. You can’t just stand by and watch him go to jail. Zhendong and Zhenbei can’t have a convict as their father, or their lives will be ruined. You are their uncle, the eldest son!”
"That's right, brother, I promise I'll make Ganmei come over and apologize to your wife as soon as he gets out. If Ganmei dares to cause trouble again, just call the police and have him arrested. We absolutely won't interfere. Brother, please come with us to the police station and write a letter of forgiveness for Ganmei." Ganmei's wife pleaded desperately from the side.
Upon hearing this, Granny Zhuang quickly coughed, inwardly grumbling to herself about what her daughter-in-law was saying. Why call the police? They were all family; wasn't she just being foolish?
Zhuang Chaoying crossed her arms tightly over her chest, her face showing disdain.
Grandma Zhuang still thought he was the same fool who could be easily manipulated, and she wanted to morally blackmail him.
He considered his younger brother and uncle as utter nonsense! If they truly considered themselves members of the Zhuang family, how could they have done such things?
This time, he was determined to make a clean break, so that these people wouldn't keep bothering him and disturbing his peace.
"Stop it! Who said I have to have the surname Zhuang? If Ganmei really considered me his older brother, he wouldn't keep reporting me and causing trouble. I even suspect that Ganmei doesn't have a left or right brain; it's all mush, as useless as a fart!"
"I'm just too lazy to deal with you guys, not because I'm being generous, do you understand?"
Zhuang Chaoying paused. "My bottom line is Ah Ling and the child. No matter who pleads for them, it won't work!"
Ganmei's wife was really anxious, like an ant on a hot pan. She could ignore Zhuang Ganmei herself, but she couldn't ignore her children. She absolutely couldn't let Zhendong and Zhenbei have a convict as their father, as that would ruin their lives.
"Brother, if we get kicked out of the barn, Zhendong and Zhenbei's lives will be ruined. How will they ever be able to face anyone again? They'll never be able to hold their heads up high again!"
Hearing the commotion downstairs, Huang's mother came down from upstairs.
She carefully closed the door and glared angrily at Granny Zhuang and Ganmei's daughter-in-law on the first floor.
The thought of the near-death experience her daughter, Ah Ling, had gone through filled her with rage. Thankfully, Ah Ling and the child were unharmed; if anything had happened, she would have fought tooth and nail to get revenge on them.
"Your child is a child, but aren't our children children too!"
When the beautiful daughter-in-law saw Huang's mother coming down the stairs, she panicked and quickly explained.
"Auntie, that's not what I meant..."
"I don't care what you mean, whether you mean it or not, it's all meaningless to me! We don't agree to a settlement. Since the police have been called, we'll listen to the officers and handle it however they want!"
Zhuang Chaoying stood aside, somewhat surprised to see her mother-in-law's tough side.
This is real torture; life is getting more and more unbearable.
After saying that, Huang's mother directly called to her husband, who ruthlessly drove Granny Zhuang and the beautiful daughter-in-law out.
With a loud bang, the door slammed shut.
Grandma Zhuang and Ganmei's daughter-in-law outside the door stared at each other, wide-eyed.
"Mom, what should we do? Ganmei is still inside!" Ganmei's wife said anxiously.
Grandma Zhuang pulled Ganmei away. "What should we do? I told you the eldest son was not to be trifled with, why is Ganmei so disobedient! Let's discuss it when we get home, don't embarrass ourselves in public. When we get back, don't tell anyone about Ganmei's arrest, okay? We shouldn't wash our dirty linen in public."
In the courtyard, Huang's father heard the two people's footsteps fade into the distance, sighed, and looked at Ah Ling's mother.
“They will definitely come again, Ah Ling’s mom, Chao Ying. If you need anything in the future, let me handle it. I’m so old, I’m not afraid of anything. Chao Ying, you’re still young and a writer, you can’t ruin your reputation.”
Zhuang Chaoying felt a warmth in her heart as she listened to Huang's father's words.
Look, this is what real family should be like.
Then think about the Zhuang family, there's not a single good one among them. They're disrespectful to their elders, selfish and self-serving. Like father, like son, they're a den of snakes and rats.
"Dad, Mom, I'll take care of them if they come again, don't worry."
Originally, Huang's mother just wanted to vent her anger, but after calming down, she thought about it and sighed.
"Chaoying, that Ganmei is still your brother after all. Let him suffer for a few days and that's it. You and Aling will still be living here in the future. If you get a bad reputation, people will gossip about you."
Arriving here, he finally understood what parental love for a child is like. Mr. and Mrs. Huang are really good; they treat him like their own child. If Grandpa and Grandma Zhuang were more normal, what would be wrong with them giving him some retirement money every month? Why did things have to turn out like this?
Unkind parents, unfilial children.
Zhuang Chaoying nodded. Just then, he heard Nannan crying again, so he hurried upstairs and patiently comforted the child.
