Chapter 286 Facing "Kahn"
Chapter 286 Facing "Kahn"
A tense, oppressive atmosphere hung in the air of White Scar's fortress. Russell stood in the command room, gazing at the holographic projection of Planet Case IV. His Bloodthirsty shovel hung at his waist, and his Fire Kirin laser gun was slung across his back, golden arcs of electricity flickering faintly around him.
Casal entered the command room, gripping the White Tiger Blade tightly in his hand, his expression grave: "Russell, we just received intelligence... the traitor Kahn is heading this way."
“Kahn?” Russell’s voice was low, his brow furrowing slightly. He had heard of that name before—the Chaos Warrior known as the “Traitor,” a being even more terrifying than Vodar Bloodsong.
“Yes,” Casal’s voice carried a rare hint of tension, “Kahn’s power far surpasses that of Voda Bloodsong. If he comes, everyone in this world… even the entire planet, could be destroyed by him.”
Arya stood quietly to the side, psionic energy flowing around her. Her eyes held deep worry: "Russell, Kahn is no ordinary enemy. His power can even tear planets apart… We may not be able to confront him head-on."
Russell remained silent for a moment, his fists clenched tightly. He knew what Kahn's arrival meant—it would be a battle almost impossible to win. But he did not back down, and the golden arcs of electricity around him shone even brighter.
“We can’t just sit here and wait to die,” Russell said in a low but firm voice. “If Kahn comes, I will hold him off. You… take the rest of the others and get out of here.”
“Russell!” Casal’s voice carried a hint of anger. “You are not fighting alone! White Scar will not abandon his comrades!”
“Cassal,” Russell turned his head, looking directly at the white-scarred company commander, “Kahn’s target is me. He’s too powerful; a direct confrontation will only result in more casualties. I will hold him off and buy you time.”
Arya stepped forward, her psionic energy coalescing at her fingertips: "Russell, I won't leave. My psionic energy might help you fight him."
Russell shook his head, his voice carrying a rare hint of gentleness: "Arya, your power is important, but Kahn... he is not an enemy we can easily deal with. You must survive to have a chance to fight back."
Just then, the fortress's alarm suddenly sounded. In the holographic projection, a massive Chaos warship was approaching the planet's orbit. Kahn's figure appeared on the screen, his chainsaw axe humming in his hand, his eyes burning with chaotic flames.
“He’s here…” Casal’s voice was low, his White Tiger Blade gripped tightly in his hand.
Russell took a deep breath, golden arcs of electricity erupting around him. He gripped his Bloodthirster shovel in his hand and slung the Fire Kirin laser gun over his shoulder.
“Cassal, Arya,” Russell’s voice was low but powerful, “this is the final order—evacuate. I will hold off Kahn and buy you time.”
Casal was silent for a moment, then finally nodded: "Russell...May the Emperor bless you."
A tear glistened in Arya's eyes, but she didn't say anything, only nodded gently: "We will come back...we definitely will."
Russell turned and walked toward the fortress exit, golden arcs of electricity crackling around him. He knew this would be his toughest battle yet—but he would never back down.
…………
Kahn's Chaos Ship landed on a desolate desert planet, the roar of its engines whipping up a sandstorm that blotted out the sky. He emerged from the ship, his chainsaw axe "Bloodborne" humming in his hand, its serrated blade gleaming with a bloodthirsty light. His eyes burned with chaotic flames, and every step he took caused the earth to tremble.
The White Scar fortress lay before them, yet eerily quiet. There was no resistance from the White Scar warriors, no roar of cannons, only sandstorms swirling around the fortress. A sinister smile curled at the corner of Kahn's lips: "Looks like they've escaped…only you remain, Russell?"
He strode into the fortress, the heavy metal doors tearing apart like paper under his force. The fortress was dark and silent inside, with only a single lamp flickering in the central hall. Russell stood in the lamplight, Bloodthirsty entrenching tool in hand, Fire Kirin laser gun slung across his back, golden arcs of electricity shimmering faintly around him.
“Kahn,” Russell’s voice was deep but powerful, “I’m waiting for you here.”
Kahn's laughter echoed in the empty hall, filled with mockery and contempt: "A mere mortal dares to face me alone? You think you can deal with me the way you dealt with Voda Bloodsong?"
Russell didn't answer, but slowly raised the Blooddrinker entrenching tool, its serrated edge gleaming coldly under the light. His eyes were calm and resolute, and the golden arcs of electricity around him shone even brighter.
“Kahn, your power is indeed formidable,” Russell’s voice was deep yet clear, “but I will use my life to stop you from advancing.”
Kahn swung his chainsaw axe violently, tearing a dark rift in the air with chaotic energy. His eyes burned with fighting spirit and madness: "Then let me see if your golden psionic power can withstand my 'Blood Child'!"
Russell's figure flashed like lightning as he charged towards Kahn. The Bloodthirsty entrenching tool clashed with the chainsaw axe, unleashing a violent energy surge. Golden arcs of electricity and chaotic energy intertwined in the air, as if two diametrically opposed forces were fiercely clashing.
“Interesting!” Kahn’s laughter was filled with rage and excitement. “Your power… is indeed more interesting than I imagined!”
Russell did not respond; each of his attacks was precise and deadly, but Kahn's strength was too great, and every swing of the chainsaw axe put immense pressure on him.
"How much longer can you hold out, mortal?" Kahn's voice was laced with sarcasm. "Your golden psionic power is ultimately no match for the power of chaos!"
A trickle of blood escaped from Russell's lips, but his eyes remained resolute. He knew he might not be able to defeat Kahn, but he would never back down.
“As long as I’m alive,” Russell’s voice was deep but powerful, “you won’t get an inch forward!”
