Chapter 217 Chaos Warmaster "Abaddon"

Chapter 217 Chaos Warmaster "Abaddon"

Deep within the Eye of Fear, on the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit!

Harken knelt on the cold deck, his power claws embedded deep in the metal floor. A dense warp energy permeated the surroundings, making even the air thick and heavy. The bridge of the Vengeful Spirit seemed like a living creature, the writhing flesh on its walls emitting occasional painful groans.

“My warlord…” Harken’s voice trembled unusually, “Please give me another chance.”

Heavy footsteps echoed from the shadows. Abaddon's figure gradually emerged, his black Terminator armor scarred by millennia of battle. Each scar spoke of a destroyed world, each armor plate etched with the souls of countless defeated warriors.

“Failure,” Abaddon’s voice was deep and menacing, “in my dictionary, only death can wash away the shame of defeat.”

He raised his hand, and Harken's body suddenly levitated in the air. The Skullgrapper let out a painful roar, and his armor began to twist and deform, as if an unseen hand was kneading his flesh.

“But…” Abaddon’s hand slowly clenched, “you are still useful.”

With a snap of his fingers, Harken crashed to the ground. His armor was shattered, revealing a body riddled with wounds. But even more terrifying, those wounds were writhing, as if they were alive.

“Let me see your resolve,” Abaddon said, pulling a pair of jet-black wings from the shadows. They were creations made of pure warp energy, each feather a tormented soul.

Harken struggled to lift his head, his eyes burning with longing: "I'm willing to give everything, my War Master."

“Then accept this gift.” Abaddon placed his wings on Harken’s back.

The Headhunter's body convulsed violently, his screams echoing across the bridge. Black wings fused with his flesh, every nerve burning. Warp energy surged within him, reshaping every single cell.

As the pain reached its peak, enormous black wings suddenly unfurled from Harken's back. Each feather shimmered with an ominous light, and a gentle flap could stir up a warp storm.

"How does it feel?" Abaddon's voice held a hint of amusement.

Harken stood up, a new power burning in his eyes: "Powerful...powerful like never before."

Abaddon suddenly attacked, his powered claws aimed straight for Harken's throat. But the Headhunter simply flapped its wings, and its body vanished from its spot, reappearing ten meters away.

“Not bad,” the Chaos War General nodded in satisfaction, “but remember, this power comes from my gift.”

With a gentle wave of his hand, Harken felt the energy within him begin to boil. The soul-deep pain caused him to kneel on the ground, his black wings drooping limply.

“Go,” Abaddon said, turning and walking into the shadows. “Let me see what changes this power can bring.”

…………

The heavy, adamantine doors slowly closed, and a holographic projector inside the conference room displayed a 3D image of the planet Saint Night. Chapter Commander Pedro Canto sat on his throne, his bronze power armor still bearing the cracks left from his battle with Harken.

"Begin the report." The commander's deep voice echoed in the conference room.

Company Commander Aksu stood up, his right shoulder still wrapped in a medical bandage: "According to underground combat data, we killed a total of 2471 Chaos Cultists, eliminated 12 Chaos Eggs, destroyed 3 Demon Engines, and killed 9 Chaos Space Marines."

Red dots flashed on the holographic projection, marking each battle location. When the projection switched to the portal hall, the chapter leader's eyes sharpened.

“Regarding Harken…” Aksu pulled up a blurry combat log, “He displayed power far exceeding his previous levels in the final moments. According to the last data transmitted back by the ‘Iron Fortress’ Dreadnought, his energy reading increased by at least 300%.”

A murmur rippled through the conference room. The commander gestured for silence: "Continue."

“What’s most disturbing is the way he left,” Aksu zoomed in on a video clip, “some unknown force forcibly teleported him away. The technical sergeant’s analysis suggests that this force requires at least Warmaster-level warp control.”

Pedro stood up, his figure appearing exceptionally tall in the holographic projection: "What does this mean, gentlemen?"

The tactical advisor pulled up a set of data: "Based on current intelligence, there are no more than five entities in the entire Chaos faction capable of teleporting Harken away without him offering any resistance."

A deathly silence fell over the conference room. Everyone understood the meaning behind that number—Black Legion Warlord Abaddon had likely already taken notice of Holy Night Star.

“Fortify the defenses,” the chapter commander finally ordered. “Activate the ‘Final Bastion’ protocol. Notify Macragge that we need more support.”

As the order was given, new defense nodes began to be marked on the holographic image:

1. Orbital defense:

- Activate all orbital turrets

- Deploy Void Minefield

- Deploy additional patrol fleets

2. Ground defense:

- Establish a secondary energy shield

- Deploy the Titan Legion

Strengthen the vigilance of the nest city

3. Underground defense:

- Seal off all underground passages

- Deploy automatic turrets

- Set up subspace jammers

At the end of the meeting, the squadron leader looked at Russell in the corner: "As for you, Captain. Your performance deserves commendation."

The hologram switches to Russell's combat data:

- Chaos Cultists killed: 247

- Assist in killing Chaos Space Marines: 3

- Weapon proficiency increase: points

"You are promoted to Major, commanding the Seventh Nest City Defense Force." The battle commander's words drew a gasp of surprise. "I hope you will not fail this trust."

“Respected Commander!” Russell spoke.

The warband leader looked at him with a puzzled expression and asked: What's wrong?

“I am very grateful for your trust and support, but I cannot accept this important position!” Russell said.

The warband leader asked, puzzled: Why?

"The squad leader should know that I am a captain in the Blade of Fire and cannot accept any other military rank."

The battle commander fell silent. Russell was right; the captains of the Kashejin warriors were indeed special, but it was still possible to promote them to higher ranks.

"I understand all of this, but I admire your abilities. If you're willing, this is just a temporary position, and you can step down after the war is over!"

Since the warband leader has said so, Russell could say nothing more: Thank you, warband leader, I will certainly not let you down!

The warband commander smiled with satisfaction and said: "Very good, Russell, you are a role model for the Astral Army!"
