Chapter 147 Dark Elf
Chapter 147 Dark Elf
To facilitate command, not only the 357th Regiment and the Barunan Legion set off together, but also a Cadian Legion. Commissar Kane also went with them. He had a wealth of experience in training soldiers, and the newly joined Barunan Legion was entrusted to his training.
Commander Borg also set off with the main force; he was an experienced frontline commander.
Unbeknownst to them, this fleet had become a massive battle fleet, marching majestically towards Alteramar.
The journey from the planet Balunan to Altrama takes several months and involves passing through countless human worlds.
…………
"My lord, the Star Speakers have received a distress signal!" an Ultramariner reported to Titus.
Titus frowned slightly, hesitating. He didn't want to waste any more time and needed to get to Alteramar as soon as possible. However, as a glorious Ultra Warrior, he couldn't just sit idly by.
"What did the Star Speakers hear?" Titus asked.
"There was no useful information at all, only the words 'SOS'?"
Where did the distress signal come from?
The Ultramariner walked up to the large green screen, glanced at it, pointed to a tiny planet on the display, and said: "Here!"
Titus nodded slightly.
"Ash 8, a small mining world." Titus stared at the information on the screen, lost in thought.
"Send a reconnaissance team over there to check the situation!" Titus ordered.
Who should we send?
"Notify Commissar Kane to send out a Star Force squad."
Upon receiving the order, Commissar Kane immediately assigned the task to Commander Borg, who then selected Russell to lead one hundred Cadian warriors to the location.
"A new mission?" Russell asked Cayenne.
"What mission?" Kayans asked curiously.
"They said I need to lead a group to Ash 8, a mining world, because there seems to be a distress signal coming from there!"
Kayan thought for a moment and said, "It must be very dangerous there. Let's go together!"
Russell didn't think much of it and said: "Okay, the two of us will lead a hundred Cadian warriors there."
The sky above Ash 8 was shrouded in a thick layer of gray clouds. The Thunder Eagle fighter jets flew through the heavy black clouds and landed on the ground.
Wearing gas masks, Russell and Cayans emerged from the fighter jet with one hundred Cadian warriors.
"The pollution here is terrible!" Kayans exclaimed.
Russell looked up at the sky, then looked around and said, "This looks like an abandoned planet. How could there be a distress signal coming from here?"
"Could it be a signal deliberately sent by the enemy to lure us here?" Kayans speculated.
Russell nodded and said: That's possible too!
"Russell, Russell, have you landed on the ground yet?" Commander Borg asked over the communicator.
"We have landed and have not detected any anomalies so far," Russell replied.
"Be careful during the search!" Commander Borg reminded Russell.
"Thank you, Commander."
“Anyway, since we’re here, let’s search carefully!” Russell said.
Kayans nodded and said: How about we split up and search?
Russell thought for a moment and said: No, the situation is unclear, it's too dangerous to separate.
They began searching the ground.
This planet is so polluted that the ground is covered with a thick layer of dust, the river water is as black as ink, and it smells pungent.
“My lord, what’s that over there?” a Kadian warrior said, pointing to a hillside in the distance.
Russell turned his head and glanced at it, then immediately said: Let's go take a look.
As they got closer, the situation on the hillside gradually became clearer.
The sight before them was astonishing: rows of sharp wooden stakes stood there, each stake bearing the uniform of a Star Guardian, some even Space Marines.
“Commander Borg, we’ve discovered something. Countless Astronauts have been killed here, along with Space Marines. Judging from their condition, they haven’t been dead for long!” Russell immediately reported to Commander Borg.
"Understood, Russell. I will report the situation to Lord Titus immediately!"
"Stay alert. You wait here for me. I'll come closer and take a look," Russell said in a deep voice.
"Be careful!" Kayans warned.
Russell nodded and said: I will.
Russell approached quickly. A Star Guardian was covered in blood, and his clothes were so tattered that it was impossible to tell which legion he belonged to.
A sharp wooden stake pierced his chin and protruded from the top of his head. His face was contorted in agony, clearly indicating that this manner of death had caused him great pain.
"It must have been done by cultists," Russell thought, because only they would be so cruel.
However, a Space Marine caught his attention. Russell mustered his courage and went inside, approaching the Space Marine who was already dead. His terracotta armor was tattered and worn, but his azure armor revealed his identity: an Ultramariner.
The Ultramariner's head was gone; a stake had driven into his body through his neck. Blood was still dripping, possibly due to the Ultramariner's unique physique, suggesting that he hadn't been dead for long.
After observing for a while, Russell stepped back and returned to the group.
“That Ultramariner is still bleeding, so he must have only been dead a short time. We need to be vigilant; the terrifying enemy hasn’t left!” Russell said, looking around warily.
“Even Ultramarines have died here, which shows how powerful the enemy is. Should we leave?” It wasn’t that Kayans was afraid of him, but he felt that dying here would be pointless.
“Not for now, we need to wait for Lord Titus to come down.” Russell didn’t want to leave so soon.
"Sir, someone is charging this way from a distance!" a Kadian warrior exclaimed.
"Prepare for battle!" Russell roared.
All the Kadian warriors immediately formed a defensive formation.
A dark figure rapidly approached, and Russell quickly recognized the newcomer.
"Fire! It's dark elves!" Russell roared.
All the Kadian warriors opened fire on the charging dark elves.
The lasers intertwined to form an impenetrable defensive line, but these did not seem to be of much use to the dark elves.
She darted swiftly through the hail of bullets, charging towards the Kadian warriors.
Russell immediately drew his Bloodthirster and roared as he charged at the Dark Elf. He didn't want to go up against him because he knew he was no match for him, but he didn't want to see his brothers slaughtered even more.
