Chapter 105 Dark Raven Guard
Chapter 105 Dark Raven Guard
Although Russell had promised the orc leader, the shameless Old Deng, to help them for three months, he had no intention of keeping his promise. Instead, he left immediately, since humans and orcs were always enemies and might fight each other the next time they met.
Just as Russell was intently observing the steel fortress, something strange happened in the sky: a huge, silvery-white pillar of light descended from the heavens.
The beam of light did not strike the steel fortress, but was blocked by an invisible barrier. Silver-white arcs of light spread in all directions, and the dazzling light made Russell dizzy. Just as Russell was rubbing his eyes, ten Space Marines appeared behind him.
"Humans?" A voice suddenly sounded behind Russell.
Russell quickly turned his head and saw ten black-armored Space Marines who had appeared behind him at some point.
Russell had never seen such Space Marines before; they were so strange and terrifying that Russell's heart pounded.
The seemingly humanoid monster was staring at Russell, its dark red eyes possessing a captivating gaze. Its black terracotta armor was tattered, with huge bone spikes protruding from its body. Its head had transformed into the shape of a bird, and two enormous black wings protruded from its back. What Russell didn't know was that this monster had a very prestigious name: "Super Raven Guardian," the strongest Space Marine, bar none.
The other nine Dark Raven Guardians did not undergo much mutation and remained in their normal form, each with a powered claw on one hand.
Russell quickly stood up and said respectfully: "Sir, my name is Russell, and I serve in the 357th Regiment of the Cardia Commando."
"How did you end up here?" Super Raven Guard was puzzled.
Russell dared not conceal the truth and said: "Lord Sigismund has allowed me to undergo trials here."
"You know Sigismund?" The Super Raven Guard found it even more unbelievable.
"He's lying, Lord Sigismund. How could he allow a human to undergo trials here!" a Raven Guard said with absolute certainty.
Sigismund is a figure of immense stature, the undisputed Emperor Champion, the strongest being below the Primarch. How could he possibly help a human in his trials? It's utterly absurd.
Russell quickly explained: "Sirs, I really didn't lie..."
Before he could finish speaking, the Super Raven Guard reached out his pale and enormous hand and grabbed Russell's head. Russell screamed in terror, "Don't kill me!"
The Super Raven Guard shook his head and said, "Don't panic, I won't kill you."
An invisible force entered Russell's brain, causing him to groan in pain and nearly faint.
After a moment, the Super Raven Guard smiled and said: He wasn't lying, it really was Lord Sigismund who sent him here for the trial.
The other raven guards all looked at them with disbelief.
"What's so special about this kid that Lord Sigismund treats him like this?" a raven guard asked curiously.
Super Raven Guard shook his head and said: His body is very peculiar, but I don't know the specifics of it.
"Gentlemen, what are you doing?" Russell asked, mustering his courage.
The Super Raven Guard pointed to the orc war factories below and said: "Our mission is to destroy these war factories, as well as this steel fortress."
"Is it just the few of you?" Russell asked curiously.
The Super Raven Guard nodded and said: We have enough.
Russell swallowed hard, unsure of what to say.
Super Raven Guard continued: "This planet is home to countless orc tribes, and the orc population is growing exponentially. We must ensure that no orc war factories exist in this world. If a super war factory were to appear, the orcs would launch a massive Waaaagh! At that time, countless human worlds would be destroyed."
After listening to what this super raven guard said, Russell seemed to understand something. No wonder the orcs in this world seemed to still live in a primitive form and had no high-tech weapons. If a powerful orc tribe were to rise up at this time, it would quickly unify the world.
"But sirs, the orcs' steel fortresses are very well defended."
"The macro cannon has destroyed the orcs' defensive force field, and we can easily enter the fortress," the Super Raven Guard said calmly.
“I want to go in with you. I also want to contribute my own strength to the Empire,” Russell said firmly.
The Super Raven Guard shook his head and said: You are too weak to go. The orcs here are not someone you can handle.
"My lord, don't underestimate me, and don't worry about me. I'm capable of protecting myself. I even fought a big orc a while ago!"
Super Raven Guard chuckled and said, "If you really want to go, you can come with us, but don't expect us to protect you."
"I can call for backup if I'm in danger, and Lord Sigismund will be there to support me at any time." Russell was naturally not afraid, as he had the powerful Dark Sanctuary behind him, and Sigismund was protecting him.
"That's good!"
…………
Late at night, the war factory of the steel fortress was still operating, with the orc lads busy at work and the orc tech lads repairing the defensive force field.
A shadowy figure rapidly approached the gates of the steel fortress, where dozens of orc warriors armed with heavy Gatling guns stood guard.
Then, after the shadow passed, all the orc warriors' heads disappeared, and then a huge hole was torn open in the massive iron gate, through which the Super Raven Guard entered the Iron Fortress.
The remaining Raven Guards followed them into the fortress.
Russell saw this scene very clearly, and he was so shocked that he couldn't speak. This was too strong! The powerful orc warriors were like decorations in front of the super raven guards.
While he was in a daze, a fierce battle had already broken out inside the steel fortress. Gunshots rang out, explosions echoed one after another, and flames soared into the sky from within the fortress.
Russell rushed into the fortress, only to find the ground littered with the corpses of wandering orc warriors, all of them decapitated. It all felt like a dream.
These orc warriors were all killed by the Super Raven Guards. In the darkness of night, these Super Raven Guards were almost one with the darkness, like a shadow drifting by, leaving corpses everywhere they went. Meanwhile, the other Night Guards were responsible for destroying the War Factory.
Although Russell couldn't see how the Super Raven Guards fought, he could only describe them as outrageously strong.
After thinking for a while, Russell decided to retreat. This kind of battle was not something he could get involved in. His retreat was wise because after three huge explosions, all the Night Guardians disappeared.
They come and go without a trace; no one knows how they came or how they left.
